AdvocaatCentraal improves document management with OpenIMS

AdvocaatCentraal services over 700 law offices with online software (www.advocaatcentraal.nl) and manages all files in OpenIMS Document Management System (DMS). Managing director Tsjeard Boonstra holds high expectations of the ‘multitenant’-solution, by which every law office has its own DMS hosted in the cloud. In order to manage over 100.000 dossiers, holding numerous files, scalability over multiple servers is an important requirement of the architecture.

A well-desiged DMS saves our customers a considerable amount of time. That all functions work properly, to me is a matter of course. A big benefit of this DMS is that it also synchronises documents locally. So a lawyer, on his way to court or travelling, can bring the documents of several dossiers on his laptop and update them 'en route'. When he returns to the office those files will be updated on the server automatically. Even more important is the search function. In OpenIMS DMS our users easily and quickly find the specific file they need. A few key words suffice. On top of that we offer our customers the possibility to share documents with their clients. The digital mailbox in which lawyers can read and correct letters written by secretaries, is another valuable asset."
