Odina has been active in the Netherlands since 1973. First as a subsidiary of the French-based Ordina. From that name, the French roots can be deducted. The name was derived from the French word for computer: ordinateur. In 1983 SG2, a subsidiary of Société Génerale, acquired Ordina from the French holding company.
After a management buy-out, the Dutch activities were autonomised in 1985. In 1987 Ordina was listed on the stock exchange. The strategy since then has focussed on:
